Wow, time has really flown. I had intended to do updates every week, but somehow it is now the middle of November and I did not even know it.
Let's see, what has been going on. Wes has had a few firsts in the last few weeks. He had his first Halloween, his first snowfall, and his first cereal. He also was baptized.
Halloween was fun this year. Randy and I took him out the day before to the pumpkin patch and got pumpkins to carve. Obviously he could not carve his own, but we did one for him. We dressed him up in a jack-o-lantern outfit that Auntie Jackie gave to us. He was so cute! He did not seem to like it very much, though. Maybe it was too warm, but whenever we put him in it, he would just cry.
His first snowfall also happened around Halloween. Just a few flurries, but snow none the less. It was quite a week when that happened. It started the week in the 70's then snow at the end of it! What wild weather we have here!
We tried to give him his first cereal on October 30th. We tried to mix some in his bottle, but he did not like that at all! He could not get anything out of it, so he was getting frustrated. Then, come to find out you shouldn't put cereal in his bottle, so we tried the old fashioned way and fed him with a spoon. That was a mess! I think more cereal got on his bib than in his mouth. We have only given it to him a couple of times now since he doesn't quite get the spoon thing, but he seemed to like it so it will probably be a new staple in his diet.
Wesley was baptized on 11/08/08. My brother Michael and his wife Karra stood for us as Wesley's godparents. It was a very nice ceremony. There were five other children also getting baptized, and not a one of them cried! The priest was amazed. Wesley looked so cute in his little baptism outfit. Michael and Karra picked out just the right one. Afterward, we had a get together at the house with some food and had a wonderful afternoon visiting with everyone who came. It was nice to see everyone since there never seems to be enough time to make the rounds.
Wes is asleep now, thankfully. He had a rough night last night. I think he may have a bit of a cold. He is kinda stuffy so I think it is hard for him to breathe. He seems to only want to be held, but I don't have too much of a probelm with that! Other than that, not muh new to report. Time is going way to fast. It seems like just yesterday he was born. I know every parent says their kids grow up too fast, but I never knew exactly what that meant until now...

He is a cute kid! Hopefully I will get a chance to see him this Friday. I love the Halloween custume!
