It has been very busy lately. Wesley is growing more and more everyday and learning new things.
He finally got his first tooth on April 25th. It is the bottom left one. He was sick for about a week before he got it, so I am not sure if the fussiness was from him being sick or the tooth coming in. We took him to the doctor's on the 24th and he said that Wes has Croup. He has been coughing alot lately and has been very stuffy. He is getting better now, but he still has a cough.
It has been alot nicer here lately now that spring is finally here. Randy and I took Wesley to the park and he got to go on a swing for the first time. We think he enjoyed it, but he was also pretty tired, so he may have just been tolerating it. We also took him on the slides and he really liked that. There is a park not too far from our house with a few swings and slides, so it is easy to get to. I am trying to get out more and bring him for walks, but there is always something that prevents me form doing it.
He has been enjoying his swimming lessons. We met another couple there that have a 10 month old a little girl named Arilynn. (I think that is how to spell it) They have been having fun in the pool, but mostly it is nice to meet another couple with a little one. We are planning on going out to dinner with them soon. We will have to bring the babies, but at least they will understand!
Rayme and Roy and Elise were in town earlier in the month. We had a good time visiting with them for Easter. We took the kids to the Mall of America and went to underwater adventures. Wesley and Elise sure loved looking at all the fish underwater. They had some big sharks and Wes seemed to like wathcing them. We also went to Gastof's for dinner. Gastof's is a German place in Minneapolis that we love to go to. Wesley sat in the highchair for the whole meal, and actually had some of our food. He seemed to like the Spaetzle and the Wienerschnitzle. Randy had the mter of brautwurst. You get a certificate if you finish it, which he did the last time we were there, but they must have changed it because it got ALOT bigger. Not able to finish it this time, but we had good leftovers!
Next weekend Randy and I are going out for a late anniversary dinner and leaving Wesley with Grandpa Ray and Grandma Becky. It will be nice to get to see them. I am also going out with Brenda snd our mom for pedicures. It will be a nice and relaxing weekend for our very first Mother's Day.

We had a wonderful time in Mississippi visiting with Nanny. We also got to see Randy's aunt and uncle and his family. Rayme has a little girl, Elise, who will be two May 1st. She was so cute with Wesley! It was great to be able to get away from home for a bit. It was a nice change of pace. Wesley did fantastic on the plane rides. We were able to get him an extra seat for free on three of the four flights so we could use his car seat. He slept most of the way on the flight from here to Atlanta, but then he was awake for the flight from Atlanta to Mississippi. We made sure we had bottles available for him for take-off and landing, and he did just fine. We weren't sure if we were going to make it all the way home on our return flights. We were delayed in Mississippi and we were concerned we would not be able to leave on time in Atlanta. Thankfully, we made it on time to our flight. The only problem we had was that our luggage did not make it home!
The weather was okay when we were down there. It rained for most of the time, but it was about 30-40 degrees warmer than Minnesota, so it was nice. We spent most of the time just being lazy and watching TV. We took a walk outside one day and found a four leaf clover for Wesley. I was surprised by a couple of lizards that were hiding by the shed! Randy and I took a ride on Nanny's John Deere Gator around her property and left Wes with his Grandma for a bit. Randy was excited to take a ride on that since he has been wanting one of them for a while.
We are starting swimming lessons this week for Wesley. It will be fun to get him in the pool since he loves his baths so much! It lasts for about 6 weeks and ends sometime in May. We thought it would be best to get him acquainted with the water before we go out to the beach this summer.
Rayme and Roy will be in from Ohio for Easter in a couple of weeks and we will be visiting with them while they are here. Randy is looking forward to getting some time off work to get started on his garden. He already has some seeds starting under his grow lights in the basement. Cross your fingers for us that the garden turns out great!

Well, February flew by!!! All of a sudden it is March and I didn't even realize it.
We had a wonderful time in Wausau with my sister and her family. Wesley really enjoyed his first time in the water. We put him under a couple of times and he did okay with it. He splashed around for a long time in the water and smiled the whole time!
Amazingly, my cousins were there the exact same weekend! We were able to meet up with them for a while and see their babies. My cousins Teri, Jennifer, Eric and Gary came up with their families. My cousin Eric and his wife Amy had twins the week after Wesley was born, so there were 4 babies there at once! Surprisingly they were all about the same size.
We had to bring Wes into urgent care when we got home that weekend. He was running a fever when we woke up Sunday morning, but no one had a thermometer to see what it was, so we let it go until we got home. When we checked it that night at home, it was 101.4. We tried to cool him down a bit and took his temp again, but it was still 101.4, so we took him in. The doctor said he seemed okay, just that he had a fever. She also said that a baby as happy as him with a fever that high is more than likely fine. He still had a fever for a few days, but then he developed a bad cough and congestion. He was sick for more than a week, and then he started coughing so hard he would throw up. We decided that he should be brought back to the doctor since he was not keeping down much fluids. His regular doctor said he looked to be fine but that he just had a bad cold. He also got weighed and he was up to 15lbs. 8ozs. so the doctor said he was happy with his weight gain considering he was sick.
We put Wes entirely on formula last week. He lost interest in nursing and wasn't getting all the liquids and food he needed. It was kinda hard giving up nursing him, but I am more worried that he is getting all the food he needs. I know he still loves me even if we don't get to bond like we do when I nurse him.
Not too much else is going on. We are going to take Wesley on his very first plane ride to see Randy's grandmother in Mississippi in a week or so. I usually love to fly, but I am not really looking forward to traveling with a 7 month old!

Wesley went in for his 6 month check up yesterday. The doctor said he looks good and healthy, he just needs to gain some weight! He wants him to come back in a month to have him weighed again. We are now giving him some formula for his feedings hoping that will help him gain some weight. He hasn't seemed to want to eat his baby food the last couple of days, but that may be related to his getting shots. He was running a fever tonight of 100.0, but we gave him some Tylenol and wiped him down with a cool cloth, and that seemed to help.
He has been sleeping very well lately. He goes down for his bedtime around 8-8:30pm. He usually sleeps until 4-4:30am, when he gets up to eat. We have been putting him in his crib awake. and he has been very good at getting himself to sleep. The only thing we have yet to figure out is how to get him in his crib for naps...
Next weekend we are going to Wausau, WI to see my sister, Aimee, and her husband and kids for my nephew Preston's birthday. He is turning five and wants to go to the waterpark hotel. We all are going to stay there Saturday night and then head home on Sunday. We are excited to see how Wesley reacts to the water. We are taking him for swimming lessons in the spring, but he will get his first taste if it next weekend.
Otherwise, all is well. We are meeting my family for dinner tomorrow night for my birthday. We are going to the Olive Garden, which is one of my favortie places to eat. Here's hoping I don't over indulge!
